| Check out Frank
Springer's story on his buffalo
hunt...
The herd on
this 8,000 Ranch is approaching one
thousand head. It is an impressive sight, which
will conjure up thoughts of the old west. The
herd consists of calves, cows and bulls. The
weight of these animals range from 500 pound
calves to 2400 plus pound Trophy Bulls.
Hunters get to keep the whole animal: head, hide
and meat. The meat has less fat, cholesterol and
calories than beef, pork or skinless chicken
(according to the National Bison Association).
The Buffalo's coat is at their best from mid
October through the first of March depending on
the weather. However, December and January are
probably when the hides are in their prime
condition.
The Ranch is located approximately 50 miles north
of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Upon reserving a hunt,
hunters will be met at the Ranch by the Ranch
manager who will take them around the Ranch.
