I am a Researcher in the field of critical tourism currently working as a faculty at the new international joint tourism college in Hainan. My interests include volunteer tourism, non-profit tourism, creative methodologies and mountain tourism. My PhD research aimed to examine the social construction of the host-guest experiences in WWOOF programme. I am a certified LEGO Serious Play facilitator and Ketso practitioner. I have research & consulting experience. In my previous roles, I was a postdoctoral researcher in Dark Tourism project at Leeds Beckett University; I spent one semester as pro-bono visiting academic with a Luxembourg Aid and Development Agency in Myanmar. I was working as a lecturer at the Mandalar Degree College in Mandalay and advising the MYA/001 project team on developing the HR capacity in the hospitality and tourism sector in Myanmar. Furthermore, I engaged in community work in New Zealand, in particular focusing on issues of the refugees and their integration into a new society and culture as well as working with youth in a Scout's organisation.
