Sea to Summit Launches in India

The iconic Australian gear company known for its innovative, high quality, and durable products, has just launched in India.

Sea to Summit Launches in India

Australia's most technical and award-winning outdoor brand has been officially launched in India by Adventure Gear Box Pvt. Ltd, itself an authentic Indian company, owned by climbers. As the adventure travel industry expands in India, more and more people are looking for authentic experiences over generic holidays. High-quality, trustworthy gear is now a real priority for travelers, outdoors enthusiasts, as well as adventure athletes and explorers.

Sea to Summit is built on legitimate adventure foundations and the origins of the company began in 1983 in Perth, Western Australia when lightweight outdoor products were hard to find and Roland Tyson, a keen climber and adventurer, began designing and making his own gear. In 1990, Roland made equipment for fellow climber and Australia's first Everest Summiteer Tim MaCartney-Snape's Sea to Summit expedition to climb Mt. Everest solo from the sea level up. Tim started the walk from Ganga Sagar in the Bay of Bengal near Kolkata, India and took three months to reach the summit of Everest. A few months later Roland was successful in his own audacious Ski-Mountaineering expedition to make the first-ever winter traverse across the Himalayan range through Ladakh, Kishtwar and Kashmir with four fellow adventurers including Paramjeet Singh from India.

Soon after these epic journeys, Sea to Summit was born, an outdoor gear company that made functional, durable, yet affordable products and reflected the ethos of their purist adventures in a ground-up approach to design and detail. Sea to Summit has since developed an impressive range of innovative gear from extreme adventures to backpacking and travelling, from sleeping bags to tents, dinnerware to dry sacks, dry bags to wilderness hygiene, and much more.

Headquartered in Perth Australia, the award-winning brand has expanded globally to more than 60 countries. Their ethos is to “equip and inspire”—and Sea to Summit's design team along with their sponsored athletes continually drive product innovation and evolution to deliver lighter, better products for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, and active travellers around the world.

Sea to Summit India's offerings include the most important, core technical products for any serious outdoors enthusiast—as well as for anyone who likes to travel light with gear that can take a beating. Products launching in India include sleep systems (sleeping bags, sleeping mats, sleep liners, pillows), dry storage (dry compression sacks, dry sacks, waterproof cases, daypacks), camp kitchen (containers, cookware, dinnerware, utensils, water storage, stoves, kitchen accessories), tents and shelters (tarps, accessories), gaiters, hammocks, toiletries, bottles, umbrellas, and a whole lot of exciting accessories that enhance any sort of travel—from soft adventure travel to long, arduous expeditions of any kind.

The Spark SpIV 2019 is designed to keep you as warm as possible while minimising weight and size. The Spark™ Series from SP0 to SPIV spans everything from an ultralight liner to an expedition weight mid-winter bag. While the end usage is very different, they reflect a design ethos of matching weather conditions to the lightest bag possible. The RDS 850+ Loft premium goose down, light-gauge #3 YKK zip and high-performance 10D Nylon shell and 7D lining fabrics, set the stage for superior performance. Buy it here. The Comfort Plus Insulated Mat AS is a game-changer when it comes to comfort out in the wild. This mat includes an Airstream Pump that is integrated into the stuff sack for quick and easy inflation. The Air Sprung Cells conform to your body shape, providing a more even dispersion of pressure across the mattress for a more comfortable nights sleep. Dual-Layer construction uses two independent high-resolution layers, giving greater sensitivity by distributing your body weight and shape over more cells. The two layers are offset for more uniform insulation and cushioning. Buy it here.
